PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Janga, one of two cheetah sisters at the Roger Williams Park Zoo, has died after a battle with a gastrointestinal disease, the zoo announced Tuesday.
Nearing 13 years old, Janga was considered geriatric for a cheetah. The zoo said she had recently undergone multiple health assessments after reported changes to her condition, which determined that she had a disease and was in need of a treatment plan.
While she had initally adjusted to the treatment well, the zoo said that over the weekend her condition took a turn for the worse, leading to another examination that determined her condition had progressed past the point where it could be managed…
