Rhode Island is small enough that a single 14-mile stretch can take you across a huge chunk of the state. The East Bay Bike Path uses every single one of those miles to perfection, guiding riders all the way from Providence down to Bristol with stunning views of Narragansett Bay the entire time.
The paved trail follows the old Providence, Warren, and Bristol Railroad route, which first opened back in 1855. Today, it effortlessly connects four distinct communities before finishing up at Independence Park, making it one of the absolute best ways to spend a sunny afternoon in Little Rhody.
What the Ride Is Like
Starting from India Point Park in Providence’s Fox Point neighborhood, the ride begins on the Washington Bridge off Gano Street, crossing the Seekonk River into East Providence via the George Redman Linear Park.
