Bat at Providence zoo prompts rabies warning from RI health officials

A bat showed signs of having rabies at a Providence, Rhode Island, zoo last month, health officials said Friday.

Visitors spotted the bat by the Roger Williams Park Zoo water play area on Aug. 24, the Rhode Island Department of Health said, noting that they’d been informed on Friday, leading to an investigation.
