The FBI’s Boston Division and its partners made 176 arrests across Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island between June 1 and September 20, 2026, during Operation Summer Heat 2.0. The effort also seized nearly 50 kilograms of drugs, recovered 69 illegal weapons, and identified or located 44 children.
Key local results included the takedown of Operation Pinky Promise in western Massachusetts, which produced 28 arrests and the seizure of 12 high-capacity firearms (including an AK-47 and two AR-15s) plus fentanyl, heroin, and more than a kilogram of cocaine. On the North Shore, 26 alleged members and associates of the Trinitarios gang were charged with RICO conspiracy tied to five murders, 19 attempted murders, and large-scale drug trafficking.
In Rhode Island, agents arrested 27 gang members, drug traffickers, and child predators and seized 16 firearms (including two fully automatic pistols) and five pounds of crystal meth. They also helped capture 11 fugitives, among them Ronald L. Fischer, who had been on the run for more than 20 years after fleeing his 2005 sexual-assault trial.
