Controversial Providence mural finds new home on Federal Hill

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The controversial unfinished mural that will soon be removed from the side of a Providence nightclub has found a new home.

Francois Karam, the owner of Opa Restaurant, confirmed that he is allowing artist Ian Gaudreau to paint his mural of Iryna Zarutska on the side of his Atwells Avenue building.

Karam told 12 News his decision to let Gaudreau paint the mural on his restaurant isn’t political, noting that he only paid the artist $1 for it…
