Massachusetts license plate honors fallen officer and K-9

REHOBOTH, Mass. (WJAR) — Filming for statewide promotional campaign for new K-9 Heroes License Plates honoring a Yarmouth police officer and New Bedford native killed in the line of duty as well as his K-9 partner was held in Rehoboth Friday.

The K-9 PTSD Research Center in Seekonk created an honorary tribute to K-9 Sergeant Sean Gannon and the four-legged heroes who serve the commonwealth, including his beloved partner Nero.

“Ironically, the idea came from the state of Florida,” DirectorJames Lamonte said. “They announced they were going to do a license plate in 2021, so we were like, ‘Why not here?’”…
