PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A sign reminding drivers to “stop for pedestrians” can be found on Randall Street, right where Providence Police said a man was hit by a car late Friday night.
Police said when they arrived, the victim was awake but couldn’t speak because of his injuries. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Police said the driver has not yet been found.
Randall is one of the streets that funnels into the major intersection on North Main Street. For years, safety advocates like Dylan Giles with the Providence Streets Coalition have been calling for changes to make it safer.
