NBC 10 I-Team: Dozens of landlords face fines as rental registry enforcement begins

(WJAR) — Dozens of Rhode Island property owners are facing fines for failing to comply with the state’s rental registry aimed at reducing lead exposure.

A state law that took effect in September 2024 requires housing providers to register rental properties online. Homes built before 1978 must also have a valid lead conformance certificate.
