The parents of a woman who drowned at Warwick’s Conimicut Point have filed a federal lawsuit against the city, claiming it failed to take appropriate safety measures at the beach.
Nicolette Biber, 28 of East Greenwich, drowned in July 2023.
She was the fifth person to drown at Conimicut Point since 2013.
The lawsuit states despite the city’s “knowledge of the extremely dangerous conditions present there,” it “failed to take the appropriate measures to enhance and ensure the safety of visitors to the park, including but not limited to installing appropriate warning signs, barricading the hazardous area, monitoring and or guarding the hazardous area, or other protective measures.”…
