TAUNTON (WBSM) — A Taunton man has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and arson after a fire early this morning.
Morning Fire Prompts Emergency Response in Taunton
Taunton Fire Chief Steven Lavigne and Taunton Police Chief Edward Walsh reported that a 911 call came in at 7:11 a.m. regarding a fire at 6 Grant Street. Police officers Brady Nichols and Jose Colon were first on the scene at about 7:14 a.m., and reported heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the home.
A minute later, fire crews arrived on the scene, assisting Officers Nichols and Colon in getting the three occupants of the home out safely.
Taunton Fire Crews Quickly Bring Blaze Under Control
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in about 35 minutes with no injuries reported to either residents or firefighters.
