CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — After service along Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor was disrupted by structural debris from a highway on-ramp, the agency says one track has now been reopened.
According to Amtrak, RIDOT and Amtrak crews have removed the debris from the tracks, and are currently working on repairs to the tracks and the overhead catenary system, which provides electric currents that power their trains.
Trains running through the area will be pulled by diesel locomotives while the catenary system is repaired. Delays are expected…
