WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — One man is in custody after a reported stabbing on Warwick Avenue Sunday afternoon.
According to Warwick police, they were called to St. Timothy’s Church around 3 p.m., where they found a 39-year-old man with an apparent stab wound to the arm. He was taken to the hospital, where he’s in serious but stable condition.
Police said they were able to identify the suspect, 37-year-old Derek Shippee, based on information from the victim and witnesses.
Shippee reportedly turned himself in to police a short time later and is being charged with felony assault. They say this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no danger the public…
