PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A group of state employees has filed a class-action lawsuit against the state of Rhode Island, seeking damages they allege were caused by the state’s problem-plagued payroll system.
Four state employees filed the lawsuit Monday in R.I. Superior Court in Providence, alleging the new payroll system that rolled out in December spurred a series of issues, including late and missing paychecks, incorrect wage rates, missing overtime, incorrect deductions and withholdings, and delayed transfers of funds.
“Since activation, Workday has caused systemic and widespread pay problems for Plaintiffs and members of the Class,” attorneys wrote in the complaint.
