New York state faces a significant severe weather threat Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning, with the Western New York and Central New York regions facing the highest risk of severe thunderstorms, damaging winds and isolated flash flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
The New York City metro area and Capital Region will also see rounds of showers and thunderstorms, though confidence in severe weather timing remains lower in those areas.
