Ray Smith is one of several experienced, excellent instructors on the teaching team for the tactical emergency casualty care (TECC) class at the FDNY Search & Rescue Field Medicine Symposium in May.
Away from the conference, he is known as an experienced paramedic educator who teaches at Northwell Health – South Shore University Hospital. He spoke to JEMS about teaching at the conference.
“The one part about it that’s different from most classes is that it’s always a very large group, and there are people from all around the world. It can be challenging to keep track of all the students and instructors. Twenty percent will be advanced physicians, often emergency room physicians. Ten percent will be law enforcement,” he said…
