Wake County is home to more than 55,000 veterans. For some, the transition from military to civilian life can bring challenges tied to housing instability, unemployment and health care access.
To help, Wake County is bringing back the Veterans Stand Down , a one-day event dedicated to connecting veterans with critical services in one location and at no cost.
“Wake County is committed to supporting veterans long after they return home,” said Don Mial, chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners. “Veterans Stand Down is designed to remove barriers veterans might be facing by offering free services, meals and support all in one place, with providers ready to take action and help them navigate their next steps.”…
