Woman hit by car as crowds gather for Carolina Hurricanes parade

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was injured when she was hit by a car in downtown Raleigh Saturday morning as crowds began arriving ahead of the planned parade to celebrate the Carolina Hurricanes’ Stanley Cup win.

The incident happened just before 8 a.m. in the 200 block of S. Blount Street, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

A woman crossing Blount Street was hit by a driver beside Moore Square just south of E. Hargett Street, police said.
