Post 13 juniors crush Cary in both ends of twinbill

The Wilson American Legion Post 13 junior baseball team cranked up its offense while the pitching and defense did their jobs in a doubleheader sweep of Cary Post 67 on Monday night, June 29, at Greenfield School’s Ralph Hodge Family Field.

Post 13 climbed to 10-0-1 with a 13-1 victory in the first game followed a 10-0 shutout in the nightcap. Both games ended via the mercy rule after five innings. Wilson visits Raleigh Post 157 in the final regular-season game Wednesday with the Area I East tournament set for July 8-11 at Washington High.

Ashton Wilson started and finished the doubleheader on the mound for Wilson. The left-hander got the start in game 1 and pitched three no-hit innings, walking one and striking out two in the win.
