Wake Forest police are investigating two Flock Safety cameras they say were vandalized earlier this month, adding to a growing tally of the license plate readers found damaged nationwide.
Authorities on July 15 discovered the two Flock cameras “physically damaged” on the ground at E. Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest; they appeared to have been cut down from their usual post.
New license plate cameras will be installed, according to Wake Forest spokesperson Bill Crabtree, but it’s unclear when. The incident remains under investigation, but Crabtree declined to comment on whether any suspects have been identified or charged.
