RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Cases of cyclosporiasis have surged to over 800 in North Carolina, up 149 cases since last week, new data from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) shows.
There are now 867 reported cases of the illness across the state, with 33 hospitalizations since May 2026. Mecklenburg County is now at 43 cases, up from 34 just last week. The majority of cases remain in Wake County (494).
