Man pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter in deadly shooting of Marine in Raleigh: Records

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The suspect in the deadly shooting of a Marine in downtown Raleigh in 2024 pleaded guilty to manslaughter Monday, court records show.

Spencer Charles Wrightington of Mebane was charged with murder after 30-year-old Christian Oldham was shot to death in the 400 block of South Salisbury Street at around 6:22 a.m. on Oct. 12, 2024, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

A search warrant filed by Raleigh police shows Oldham was shot inside a vehicle in a parking deck. Wrightington, who called 911, said he was out drinking with Oldham and was in the vehicle with him when the incident happened…
