Raleigh Monster Truck rally criticized for sexist language, lack of monster trucks

A monster truck rally held in Raleigh Saturday and Sunday drew heavy criticism for sexist commentary announced to the crowd, including that racing has no place for women, who instead belong “in the kitchen.”

A popular Reddit post still generating discussion Monday accused Monster Truck Wars of “disparaging all the women and little girls in the audience” at the NC State Fairgrounds, and also of being a “rip-off” that featured mostly quad-racing and very few monster trucks.

”One of the guys who won a quad race today got on (the) mic and told the audience that women have no place racing and belong in the kitchen,” wrote the post’s author, LazloPhanz. “This was an event that opened with a prayer by the way and a whole thing about honoring the troops, (not the female troops I guess). Low class organization paying lip service to Christ and country and then disparaging all the women and little girls in their audience.”…
