The Wilson Times received nine awards at the 153rd annual North Carolina Press Association banquet held in Cary on Thursday night, Sept. 10.
Drew C. Wilson, Christopher Long and Paul Durham of the Times each earned individual awards.
Wilson came home with the most prestigious photography award the NCPA distributes, the Hugh Morton Photographer of the Year Award. He was recognized for a 10-picture portfolio, including a photo of sparks flying during a house fire, two men transporting a whirligig down Nash Street, farm workers loading a truck of sweet potatoes, a skateboarder jumping a set of steps in downtown Wilson and more…
