Man accused of fleeing trooper at 117 mph on I-40; gun, drugs found in vehicle

A Raleigh man is facing a felony weapons charge and several other offenses after troopers say he reached 117 mph while fleeing a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Duplin County.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol says a trooper attempted to stop 23-year-old Logan Thomas Butler after he was clocked traveling more than 90 mph on I-40.
