2 crashes on I-40 in Wake County near RDU spur traffic gridlock

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Two crashes have snarled traffic along Interstate 40 northeast of Raleigh in Wake County on Friday afternoon.

The first crash was around 1:10 p.m. along eastbound I-40 just before the Harrison Road exit 287, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
