The Clayton Fire Department in North Carolina has added Firefighter Michael Duffy to its team. Duffy, originally from Connecticut, moved to North Carolina in May 2023 and joined the Clayton Fire Department in October 2023. His interest in fire service started in high school, when he took an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class. This led him to join the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department.
Duffy has experience in confined space rescues at power plants, a skill he learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. He enjoys the camaraderie within the department and the chance to serve the community, despite not having any family in the fire service.
Duffy is still settling into his new role but is optimistic about the Clayton Fire Department’s future. He praises his colleagues for their expertise and commitment, and is confident in the department’s ability to protect the town.
In his free time, Duffy enjoys outdoor activities. He likes hunting and also plays hockey and ice skates when he can.
In summary, Firefighter Michael Duffy is a valuable addition to the Clayton Fire Department. His experience, commitment, and dedication to service benefit both the department and the community.
