Small plane lands on belly at Raleigh-Durham International Airport

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A small plane landed safely at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Friday afternoon despite having no working landing gear, according to the airport.

RDU said the general aviation plane landed around 2:40 p.m. on runway 5R-23L, the airport’s secondary runway. No one was hurt in the incident, the airport said.

RDU Fire Rescue and Operations responded to the disabled aircraft and cleared it from the runway.

The airport said RDU’s main runway, 5L-23R, remained open during the incident, with flights able to land and take off as normal…
