The Reno Fire Department (RFD) announced its newest K9 member to the department on Thursday. K9 Lambeau, is a one-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever who will serve as a facility dog offering peer support for first responders. RFD officials say he is the first facility K9 in northern Nevada specifically dedicated to supporting firefighters and other first responders.
“Mental health is just as important as physical health, and we look forward to the positive impact K9 Lambeau will have on our crews by offering comfort when they need it most,” Reno Fire Chief Dave Cochran said in a statement. “The Reno Fire Department is proud to welcome Lambeau to our family.”
