City of Reno installs detour as Truckee River Path remains blocked by property owner

Reno, NEV — From the Ask Joe file:

The city of Reno has given downtown a new look and cyclists and pedestrians have a new route to follow as the city has installed a detour after learning a property owner had installed a locked gate at Lake Street, blocking access to the path at that point.

All of this came about after a viewer, Jeffrey Wood, reached out to News 4 pointing out the path had been blocked at Lake Street. The city then studied the issue and decided it has no legal standing to order the gate to be taken down and then came up the detour as a workaround…
