Reno Starbucks becomes 7th in Nevada to unionize

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A Starbucks on Longley and McCarran has become the seventh store in Nevada to unionize.

Baristas there voted to join Starbucks Workers United unanimously on Wednesday.

“We are voting to join Starbucks Workers United because chronic understaffing, management inconsistencies, and frequent product launches have taken away from what working at Starbucks means for us,” said Amara Kauffman, a shift supervisor at Starbucks. “We are the partners that show up and work hard day in and day out, and we deserve to have our voices heard.”…
