Jacobs Entertainment acquires Reno’s ‘oldest’ house. Willing to sell it for $1

Jacobs Entertainment just added Reno’s oldest house to its expansive list of downtown acquisitions.

The J Resort hotel-casino owner and developer for the proposed Reno Neon Line District officially acquired the property at 347 West St. on Wednesday, according to Washoe County records. The sale price was $1.2 million.

The purchase represents the latest key acquisition by Jacobs Entertainment, which has amassed around 80 downtown properties and parcels since buying the former Sands Regency hotel-casino in 2017.

In addition to a $300 million remodel of the Sands Regency into the J Resort , Jacobs Entertainment is also pushing for the redevelopment of downtown’s West Fourth Street corridor into the Reno Neon Line District.

Built in the 1800s, the property is most likely the oldest house in Reno , according to a previous analysis by the Reno Gazette Journal.

Jacobs Entertainment acquired the parcel as part of the company’s “overall goals for continuing to build Reno’s Neon Line District and the J Resort,” according to CEO Jeff Jacobs. The house is currently sandwiched between parking lots.
