Scattered Showers and Thunderstorms Expected Across Eastern Sierra and Western Nevada

The National Weather Service in Reno has forecast scattered showers and thunderstorms through Thursday, with snow possible at higher elevations in the Sierra. An upper low moving along the California coast is expected to bring well-below-average temperatures and rainfall, especially in areas from Carson City southward to Douglas and Lyon counties, as well as the Tahoe Basin.

The heaviest rainfall is anticipated between 2-8 PM today, with localized flooding risks near burn areas, including the Davis and Bear Fire zones. Showers may continue into Thursday, especially in areas south of US-50. A warming and drying trend is expected to begin on Friday, with temperatures returning to near or above average next week.
