In Storey County, 911 dispatchers are often the first, first responders, providing calm direction on the other end of the line when every second counts.
“Dispatchers are the voice behind the phone, the calm in the night. They’re rarely seen, but always heard,” said Rachel Ferris, dispatcher supervisor in Storey County.
