RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Most dog owners say the thought of their pet running away is one of the worst feelings imaginable. For Reno nurse April Rizzolo and her family, it became reality after their 3-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Ralla, disappeared north of town.
Rizzolo had flown to the East Coast and left Ralla with a friend who lives in the Palomino Valley area. While she was away, her friend called with troubling news: Ralla had run off, and early efforts to find her were unsuccessful.
“We just had to basically stay calm, travel home, and as soon as we got home we got in our truck and drove out to his house and started combing the hills,” Rizzolo said…
