Richmond, Va (WRIC) — We hit 100 yesterday, which we tied yesterday’s record. It’s the first time we’ve reached 100 since June 30, 2024.
We will have a hot and dry start to our weekend. Today will feature mostly sunny skies and highs near 90.
Sunday is another VIPIR Alert day. We are tracking another chance for scattered strong to severe storms along another cold front. The timing of this front looks to be very similar to Friday’s, between 2 and 10pm. Highs will be in the low 90s.
The main threats are going to be strong damaging winds of 60mph or greater and heavy downpours. There is a low risk for both hail and tornadic development and the possibility of both occurring cannot be ruled out.
Early next week highs will be a bit cooler and drop into the 80s for a few days. We have some on and off rain and storm chances as heat and humidity sticks around.
We are looking to inch back into the 90s at the end of next week…
