CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – Sitting in an office with bare walls and boxes, Dr. Joe Casey is reflecting on his final days as the county administrator in Chesterfield.
“10 years has gone fast, I feel like I’m hitting my stride,” he said. “I still, you know, am doing things even as I drove to work, you know taking a picture of something that we may need to pay attention to. I just need to figure out in the future who I send that picture to.”
Last December, Dr. Casey announced his retirement from the role to spend more time with his family.
“My job, my schedule, night meetings, morning meetings, doesn’t avail me to time,” he said during an interview in December during his final “State of the County” address.
When Casey started the job back in 2016, one of his priorities was building on the county’s existing workforce…
