Woman killed, driver charged after SUV crashes into Virginia assisted living

ASHLAND, Va. — An elderly woman was killed and two other people were hurt after an SUV crashed into an assisted living facility in Ashland on Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Officers were called to 809 Thompson Street at 2 p.m. for a report of a vehicle that crashed into a building, officials with Ashland Police said. That is the address of Hanover Manor, a small, close-knit assisted living and memory care facility with about 70 residents, according to its website.
