Tractor-trailer crash causes all lanes to be closed on Route 288 in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A tractor-trailer crash on Route 288 caused significant delays for drivers in Chesterfield County on Friday, Feb. 2.

According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Route 288 near the Midlothian Turnpike exit.

State troopers said a tractor-trailer and an SUV collided in the southbound lanes, causing a power line to also be hit. The power lines then sparked a fire in the grass alongside the road.

A spokesperson with Chesterfield Fire & EMS said the brush fire was two acres in size but has since been extinguished.
