After string of deadly shootings and crashes, Henrico community marks Crime Victims’ Rights Week

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — After a series of deadly shootings and crashes across Central Virginia, community members gathered in Henrico County to mark National Crime Victims’ Rights Week alongside local law enforcement.

Henrico hosted its “2026 Victims’ Rights Awareness Walk” on Thursday, April 23. It brought neighbors and county leaders together in the name of public safety.

“Victims come in many different [forms,]” said Henrico County Police Chief Eric English during the event. “Whether it be a gun, whether it be shooting, whether [it’s a] stabbing, whether [it’s a] domestic assault — any type of victim is far too many.”…
