A 4.1-magnitude earthquake hit Southern California Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 3:34 p.m., north of the Edwards Air Force Base near California City in Kern County.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 3.7 miles and could be felt as far south as Palmdale.
