Cowabunga! The world’s first “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” pizzeria has landed right here in Southern California, thousands of miles away from where the show is set.
The first-of-its-kind eatery merges “chef-driven pizza with one of the most beloved franchises in entertainment,” restaurant officials said in a media release.
Located along the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, the 3,000-square-foot restaurant is designed to look and feel like the original 1980s “TMNT” universe, complete with New York City-type vibes including an underground aesthetic that is a central tenet to the show starring Raphael, Michaelangelo, Leonardo and Donatello, four anthropomorphic turtle brothers who fight crime in New York City — and happen to be obsessed with pizza…
