A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy on the overnight shift arrested a fugitive from Texas after he was alerted by a dog barking.
LASD’s Santa Clarita Valley Station said that the deputy was patrolling near Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway around 3:30 a.m. Friday when he “heard a dog barking continuously from inside a vehicle” that was parked in the nearby Park & Ride facility off the Antelope Valley Freeway.
“Concerned for the dog’s welfare, the deputy stopped to check on the situation,” officials said. “As he approached the vehicle, he noticed the vehicle’s registration was expired.”…
