$8K gold chain recovered after robbery

The Fontana Police Department recently arrested Keewann Willis, 30, and a 16-year-old suspect in connection to the alleged robbery of an $8,000 gold chain necklace. At the time of publishing, Willis was booked at the West Valley Detention Center and the teenage suspect was booked at San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall. On Aug. 27 at approximately 6:58 p.m., the department responded to a call from a resident, reporting a robbery in the parking lot of Raising Cane’s in the 16900 block of Highland Avenue.

The victim told the officers that he arranged the sale of the gold necklace in question through Facebook Marketplace. During the transaction, the jewelry was placed on the table and the 16-year-old suspect allegedly grabbed the chain and fled on foot. The juvenile entered a Nissan Altima and left the area.

Later, the officers located the vehicle near Palmetto and Baseline Avenues — occupied solely by Willis. After detaining Willis, the officers found evidence related to the investigation in his possession. He was subsequently arrested and the investigation was turned over to detectives…
