Record year at PSP brings billions in Coachella Valley economy

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ)—Palm Springs International Airport generated an estimated $2.55 billion in regional economic activity in 2025, according to a new airport-commissioned study released this week.

The study found the airport supported 16,598 jobs and generated about $871 million in labor income across Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Nearly 97% of the airport’s total economic impact stayed within the Coachella Valley, according to the report. More than half of that impact was within the City of Palm Springs.

Visitor spending accounted for a large share of the economic activity. Travelers arriving through PSP spent an estimated $1.16 billion in the region, supporting hotels, restaurants, retailers, transportation companies and other local businesses…
