The city of Beaumont recently announced the appointment of Christopher Boatman as the new city manager, effective Monday, May 11. Following an extensive recruitment process, Boatman was selected for his demonstrated leadership, depth of experience, and commitment to public service. As city manager, he will oversee all city departments and ensure operations align with city council priorities and the needs of the community. Boatman will also be publicly sworn in at the June 2 Beaumont City Council meeting. “On behalf of the city council, we are honored to welcome Mr. Boatman as Beaumont’s new city manager,” Mayor Jessica Voigt said. “As a dedicated public servant, his leadership experience and integrity will provide valuable guidance as Beaumont continues its long-term growth and success.”
Boatman brings nearly 20 years of public-sector experience, most recently serving as the assistant city manager for the city of Redlands. Throughout his career, he has overseen major capital and community projects, including a $16 million City Hall renovation, an $85 million police station, a 17-acre sports park and approximately $100 million in real estate transactions since 2018. He has 17 years of municipal management experience, navigating complex challenges and delivering fiscally responsible solutions that support community growth and quality of life. “I’m honored and incredibly excited to be selected as Beaumont’s new city manager,” Boatman said. “My priority is to ensure the city continues to deliver reliable, high-quality services while planning responsibly for the future. I’m committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility and maintaining the character and quality of life that residents expect. I look forward to working closely with the city council, staff and community members to address challenges, support thoughtful growth, and build on the strong foundation already in place.”…
