220 back open after “small landslide” at Franklin/Roanoke County line

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – UPDATE: Route 220 is fully back open as of 9 p.m., according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

ORIGINAL STORY: One lane of northbound Route 220 at the Roanoke County/Franklin County line, near Naff Road, is closed Tuesday night due to a “small landslide” in the area, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

As of 8 p.m., there was no word when the road might be fully back open, but the Sheriff’s Office said, “With ongoing rainfall continuing across our region, roadway conditions may become hazardous with standing water, falling debris, slick pavement, and reduced visibility possible in multiple locations.”…
