One person critically hurt after duplex explosion and fire in NW Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – At least one person was critically hurt after an explosion and fire at a duplex, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

Fire Chief David Hoback tells WDBJ7 the call was for an explosion and fire about 4 p.m. Friday at a duplex in the area of Rutgers and Dorchester in NW Roanoke, northeast of Valley View Mall. The duplex collapsed and caught fire; the flames have been extinguished.

The cause of the explosion has not been determined…
