Manslaughter charge upgraded against driver accused of killing man in DUI crash

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A Roanoke man has been indicted on charges of aggravated DUI manslaughter, plus operating a motor vehicle on a revoked operator’s license as a result of previous DUI convictions, after a crash that killed the other driver.

Kenneth Lynn Campbell, 43, was indicted by a Roanoke grand jury June 1.

The charges result from a crash May 25, 2026. Commonwealth’s Attorney John McNeil, Jr. says Campbell, while driving, hit another vehicle at the intersection of Melrose Ave and Lafayette Blvd in the City of Roanoke.
