ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. for part of the region. All of central Virginia and the Highlands are included in the watch, as well as Craig, Botetourt and Rockbridge Counties.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for storms to produce 60 mph wind gusts and large hail. Wind is the main threat through the afternoon and evening.
