Animal shelters across Southwest Virginia are waiving adoption fees and hosting special events as part of Clear the Shelters month.

The Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection, or RCACP, is waiving adoption fees through the end of August. The shelter provides temporary care for stray, abandoned and surrendered animals while working to reunite them with their owners or find them permanent homes…
